Call for Expressions of Interest and Nominations for Vice‑chair of Senate (Student Affairs)

Members of the University community who wish to submit expressions of interest or nominations for the position of Vice-Chair (Student Affairs) should send them to Carolan McLarney, Chair, Senate Nominating Committee, University Secretariat, Room 210, Henry Hicks Academic Administration Building, by November 25, 2016.

This position is for a three year term from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020.              

VICE-CHAIR (STUDENT AFFAIRS)

The Vice-Chair (Student Affairs) provides oversight of all aspects of student academic integrity and student academic appeal functions. The Vice-Chair (Student Affairs) serves as an ex-officio member on the Senate Planning and Governance Committee, and is the Chair of the Senate Learning and Teaching Committee.  The Vice-Chair (Student Affairs) presides over Senate meetings in the absence of the Chair and the Vice-Chair (Academic Programs), and represents Senate at meetings of other groups as required.

Persons eligible to be considered for the position of Vice-Chair (Student Affairs) are:

·         Have served a minimum of one year on Senate within the preceding 10 years;
·         Have an academic appointment of 50% FTE or greater; and
·         Not be on leave.

It should be noted that Senators elected as Officers of Senate will receive automatic extensions of their terms as members of Senate until the completion of their term(s) as an officer.
