JOB ADVERTISEMENT - LIMITED TERM INSTRUCTOR POSITION

Applicants are invited for a two-year limited term position (0.5 FTE) at the Instructor level in the School of Physiotherapy starting December 1, 2016. This is an academic position that will encompass teaching and administration. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a fixed term position.

The Instructor position is a key component of the entry-level curriculum providing a common thread throughout the modular-based curriculum. The Instructor is a physiotherapist who is interested in having an impact on the education of future physiotherapists and who enjoys working with students. The School recognizes that the Instructor will have a specialty area of practice (neuroscience, musculoskeletal or cardiorespiratory) and will also have a general understanding of most aspects of physiotherapy practice. The Instructor works closely with the faculty members to create an efficient and effective learning environment for physiotherapy students.

This position requires a physiotherapist with a completed graduate level degree in physiotherapy or a related field. Eligibility for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy is also essential. Previous teaching experience in a classroom, clinical and/or continuing education setting is required. The desirable candidate for this position is an individual who is self-directed, has strong organizational, communication (oral and written), computer literacy (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), interpersonal, and time management skills, along with excellent clinical competency skills.
