The University of King’s College is looking for one or two part-time instructors interested in teaching in the HOST Programme during the Fall 2017 semester.

Candidates may propose their own course, but the programme is particularly interested in those who could teach courses already in its curriculum, especially the following courses:

a)       HSTC 1200/2200X Knowing and Making the World: the history of science from the ancients to the moderns (Fall Semester Only)

b)      HSTC 2001 Ancient Science: The Beginnings of Wisdom (Ancient Sciences from the Ancient Babylonians to Ptolemy)

c)       HSTC 4120.03 Artefacts: The Material Culture of Science of Technology

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class (including advertising, office hours, etc.). Time will be required for pre-course preparation, and afterwards for marking and administration duties. Course outlines have been established, but can be modified. Qualifications: Applicants should possess a post-graduate degree and teaching experience in History, Philosophy, or Sociology of Science and Technology or related field of studies or other professional qualifications deemed suitable for teaching in the programme. Previous university level teaching is required.

Pay Rate: $4,894.50 (half class stipend)
