Louise Smith, Director, Project Management Office is retiring from the University on September 30, 2016. Louise has been an esteemed member of the Dalhousie community for 35 years. She began in Financial Services which then led to her central and ongoing role in the implementation of Banner and Business Process Integration (BPIO) in the early 2000’s. In August of 2012, she became the first Director of the newly-formed PMO office. Her passion for integration led teams through many successful projects.
Best wishes to Louise as she begins this new chapter in her life. We hear she’ll be spending lots of time working in and enjoying her garden.
Alan Thomson, Assistant Director, Client Services is retiring on September 30, 2016. Alan has been a valued member of the Dalhousie community for 25 years. He began with the ACS Help Desk in early 1990. He then moved to ACS Distributed Sites as a Lab Manager. Alan became Assistant Director, ACS Distributed Sites where he was responsible for the delivery of desktop support and ACS labs on the Halifax campus. Over the past 10 years Alan has taken on other roles in ITS including managing Hardware Services, and leading the DalAC IT staff through the transition of processes and services.
We wish Alan all the best in this new phase of his life. His wife Brenda has recently retired and they are both European travel enthusiasts. We’re sure travelling is in their future!
