Impacts on Dalhousie mail due to potential Canada Post labour disruption

Posted by Facilities Management on July 6, 2016 in Facilities Management

There is the possibility of a labour disruption at Canada Post as early as Friday, July 8. In the event of a disruption affecting the entire country, Canada Post would not be making pickups or deliveries to our Dalhousie campuses.

Internal mail will continue to be available between our four campuses.

For external mail, Dalhousie’s Department of Procurement has agreements with three courier companies as follows:

Deliveries within Halifax: All Points Courier
Deliveries outside Halifax, including international deliveries: Fed Ex or UPS (negotiated courier rates apply)

For details on vendor payments normally paid by cheque and delivered by Canada Post, please review this information from Financial Services [PDF].

Anyone looking for more information can call the Dalhousie mailroom on the Halifax campus at 902-494-3720.

You can also sign up to receive email updates on the Canada Post labour disruption at canadapost.ca/updates.
