Position: Part-time Academic – Fall Semester, 2016
Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University

Compensation: In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement

Work Assignment: This Part-time Academic will teach lectures and labs for course, PLSC1000 – Farm Woodlot Management, for the period of September 6, 2016 – December 16, 2016. The lectures for this course are currently scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday, with labs being held on Monday. The Part-time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, running labs, test preparation and evaluation. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

Requirements include:
Ph.D. (preferred) in the area of Forestry Science and/or Plant/Biological Science. Would consider a MSc. in the area of expertise, with a minimum of two years of experience. Demonstrated teaching experience required in a post-secondary level environment, with experience in horticulture and greenhouse management. Previous experience in supervising students would be an asset. The successful candidate will also possess resourcefulness, innovation, self-motivation and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
