COURSE INFORMATION: SPAN 3020: Translation
Fall Term 2016 (September 1, 2016 - December 31, 2016)
Currently Scheduled: MW 10:05-11:25

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The Part-Time Academic will be required to cover oral practice, translation techniques, detailed comprehension of texts and the finer points of grammar in English and Spanish. The Part-Time Academic will also be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including admission, lectures, test preparation, evaluation, and electronic submission of grades. Three class hours per week, plus hold weekly office hours.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Applicants should have native or near-native fluency in English and Spanish and possess a graduate degree (minimum of an MA) in a related discipline. The ideal candidate will have several years of university level teaching experience, experience in translation and/or interpretation, and an understanding of Hispanic culture. WORK ASSIGNMENT: The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including admission, lectures, test preparation, evaluation, and electronic submission of grades. Three class hours per week, plus hold weekly office hours.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Applicants must possess a PhD degree in a related discipline and a background in International Development Studies. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience at the University level, preferably on Cuban topics. Fieldwork in Cuba would be an asset.
