Appointment Of Director Of Development, Faculty Of Arts And Social Sciences (FASS) And Faculty Of Graduate Studies (FGS)

Posted by Office of Advancement on May 6, 2016 in General Announcements

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lori Ward to the position of Director of Development, for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) and for The Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), in the Office of Advancement.

Lori has been the Director of Fund Development with The Roméo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative since 2013, where she has significantly grown the funding support for their work. Prior to joining Dalhousie, Lori spent 5 years with The Coady International Institute at St Francis Xavier University as the Fund Development and Communications Manager. Lori also brings her experience as Development Officer for The Banff Centre to this very important role, where she helped secure funding as part of a successful campaign to raise $123 million for capital and arts programming.

Lori will report to me and lead all major gift activity for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) and for the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), and will work closely with both Deans, The Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts, and with The Executive Director of The Roméo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative. Lori will continue to play a key role in major gift development for The Roméo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative, and will also play a leadership role in the capital campaign to raise funds for the expansion of the Dalhousie Performing Arts Centre. Lori will also be working with donors to support graduate students as well as our Dalhousie Art Gallery and our Dalhousie University Libraries.

Lori will officially take on this new role on July 4, 2016.

Please join me in congratulating Lori on being appointed to this expanded role in FASS and for taking on the development activity for the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Best regards,

Steve
