Position: Sessional Lecturer
HLTH 5110.03 Mental Health and Addictions Services and Systems

Schools of Occupational Therapy/Social Work, Faculty of Health Professions

Pay rate: In accordance with the guidelines for Part time Academics. This position will not be included in the CUPE Bargaining Unit.

Work Assignment:  The instructor is responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering a fully on-line course, including preparing and uploading  instructional materials, readings and assignments, directing and managing online discussions, and evaluating students. This courses is delivered completely using distance learning technology. 

This course examines the conceptual, historical, political, gender, and societal factors that influence values, beliefs, and practices pertaining to mental health and addictions. Understanding of these concepts will enable the critical evaluation of formal and informal services and systems currently in place for providing support to individuals, families, and communities.

Requirements of position: Previous teaching experience at the university level is required, and web-based distance education technology is desirable. Must have a degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of a Masters degree. PhD is preferred.
