The Kellogg Library has moved into two new locations. One is permanent, on the second floor of the Collaborative Health Education Building (CHEB) at the corner of University Avenue and Summer Street. The second location, Chapter House (5743 University Avenue), is a temporary home for the Library while renovations take place on the main floor of the Tupper Building.
At Chapter House, you can access the full reserve collection and the general circulating print collection. You can also print, photocopy, scan, pay fines, add money to your DalCard, and find some quiet study spaces. Quick reference is also available from our staffed service desk.
The Kellogg Library Learning Commons has opened on the second floor of the CHEB, with seating for more than 300. This exciting new space is where you will find computers, printing, and scanning, as well as individual, small group, and bookable group study rooms. Advanced and quick reference services from Kellogg Library staff is available as well as technical assistance from the Dal Libraries’ IT Navigators.
Library subject specialists will be working between the two sites. To contact a subject specialist for assistance, please consult this list.
Many reserve readings will be converted into electronic form so that they are accessible anywhere. For those materials that cannot be made accessible electronically, a mini-reserve of high-circulating items will be held in the Kellogg Library Learning Commons in the CHEB, to supplement the full reserve at Chapter House.
In fall 2016, the Kellogg Library will move back to the Tupper building on the first floor in its old location. The Kellogg will continue to have two distinct sites: the Kellogg Library (main floor, Tupper Building) and the Kellogg Library Learning Commons (second floor, CHEB).
Staff will be available to answer questions during all phases of the moves, at both locations: CHEB, (902)494-2482 and Chapter House, (902)494-2479.
