Eating Healthy on a Budget

Many nutritious foods can be bought and prepared while following a budget. During this lunch and learn we will discuss; meal planning, shopping on a budget, quick and easy meal and snack ideas, and share ideas and stories. This session is for you and meant to be helpful so please bring along any questions you may have.

We will assemble in the lobby of Shirreff Hall and have a special offer for you. For $5.00, and just for this event, you can grab what you’d like for lunch from the newly renovated Shirreff Hall dining room and we will eat lunch and listen to our dietitian’s presentation in the Victorian Lounge. Dietary restrictions are accommodated. If you prefer, you can bring your lunch with you or simply enjoy the presentation.

Our Presenter: Angela Emerson is a Registered Dietitian with a passion for sustainable food and helping people reach their nutritional goals. She understands that each person has unique nutritional concerns and goals. Angela successfully completed her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics with an Internship Program in 2007, joining the Food Services team, Halifax Campus, as the Manager of Wellness and Sustainability in 2008. She is a member of the Nova Scotia Dietetics Association and a certified Train Can Food Safety Instructor.
