Part time Academic Posting ‑ School of Social Work

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School of Social Work
PAY RATE: In accordance with the CUPE 3912 Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching SLWK 7400.03 “Integrated Approaches for Social Work Practice” Section 01 on CAMPUS. The class will be offered in the Winter term, January to April 2016, on Wednesdays from 13:05-15:55 in Room 302 of the Dunn Building, Studley Campus. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. The successful incumbent must have strong skills in policy, theory, and practice integration, along with the ability to critically analyze concepts of power, oppression, politics, and citizenship. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience is preferred. New part-time academics will be required to participate in training for the new Learning Management System (LMS) - either in person or online.
