LeMarchant and South intersection improvement

Posted by Facilities Management on August 11, 2015 in Facilities Management

As a main point of entrance to Dalhousie's Studley Campus, the intersection of LeMarchant and South Street will be redesigned to visually represent Dalhousie University. The majority of the intersection improvements will be attributed to the construction of a stone wall in a similar style to those seen on campus.

Complete with new walls and detailed landscaping the LeMarchant and South Intersection Improvement Project will boost the appearance and atmosphere of this area of campus. The wall will become a key identifier of the campus from South Street.

The work required to construct the new wall will begin mid-August and is expected to be complete by the end of September. No vehicular interruption is expected, however, some disruption to pedestrians may occur when a small portion of the sidewalk will be closed for construction.

The intersection improvement has been designed by Volick, McKee, Petersmann and Associates Limited, and the construction work will be completed by Schooner General Contracting Limited.

For any questions and concerns that may arise during the course of this work, please contact Project Manager, Ted Migas at 902-494-1077.
