The Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University is a small research-intensive campus located in Truro, N.S. The Department of Plant and Animal Sciences in Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Agriculture invites applications for a Limited Term appointment (10 months per year for 3 years) at the rank of Instructor, beginning August 17, 2015. Reporting to the Chair, Department of Plant and Animal Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, the Animal Science Instructor will be responsible for providing classroom and laboratory instruction in the fields of Animal Health, Animal Physiology, Vertebrate Anatomy, Animal Nutrition, and Carnivore Biology within the Faculty of Agriculture, plus additional teaching responsibilities associated with their area of expertise which may include Equine Management.  The incumbent will also act as coordinator of the new Bioveterinary Science program.  The successful candidate is expected to supervise student projects in relevant areas as needed. The incumbent will also participate in service and extension activities related to their areas of expertise and will be responsible for representing the Dalhousie Faculty of Agriculture on committees and workshops.                .
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Animal Science or a related discipline.  Experience in the preparation and delivery of credit courses and laboratory preparation is a requirement. Demonstrated excellence in diploma, undergraduate and graduate teaching and training is desired.   The successful candidate will also possess resourcefulness, innovation, leadership skills, self-motivation and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
