Last week was National Co-op Education Week, but Management Career Services (MCS) started celebrating a little early when it hosted its annual Employer Appreciation Breakfast on Thursday, March 12. The event brought together representatives from our Employer of the Year, Citco, our Co-op Student of the Year, Daphne Wallace, and 8 of the 17 total supervisors from across the country who were nominated by their co-op students for an Employer Appreciation Award in 2014.
This event is MCS' opportunity to recognize the outstanding co-op supervisors who have provided an incredibly enriching work term experience for their student employee, the co-op employer who has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to supporting our students through work term and career development opportunities, and the co-op student who has outshone all the rest in terms of their work term performance and dedication to experiential education. Read more about the honourees at the MCS blog.
The celebrations continued last week as we engaged our students, as well as current co-op employers, in various activities to raise awareness of the importance of co-op education. These included some of our Career Recruitment Specialists delivering a little National Co-op Week treat to the co-op supervisors at the offices they visited. Those treats were extended to students and staff during the week as well.
