WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for History 2081.06, Twentieth-Century Europe in Literature, Art and Film, a second-year class conducted in the Fall/Winter Term of the 2015-16 academic year, September 1, 2015 to April 30, 2016, which explores the representation of 20th century European history in cinema, literature, and art. Class is currently scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:35-12:55. The part-time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading and administration of the class and in addition is to be available for two hours per week outside class times for student consultation. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the Department.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in History or be registered in a Ph.D. programme and have demonstrated excellence in teaching the history of 20th century Europe and European cinema and cultural studies at the undergraduate level. WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for History 2207.03, Aboriginals and Empires: Canada’s Origins to 1763, a second-year class conducted in the Winter Term of the 2015-16 academic year, January 1-April 30, 2016. The class explores the early history of the parts of the continent that eventually formed British North America. It examines the history of Canada’s First Nations, the arrival of European peoples, and the major events in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Class is currently scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:35-12:55. The part-time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading and administration of the class and in addition is to be available for two hours per week outside class times for student consultation. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the Department.
