WORK ASSIGNMENT
The History of Science and Technology Programme (HOST) is looking for part-time instructors to teach a number of courses during the 2015-16 academic year. HOST is especially interested in academics that could teach the following courses:

·         HSTC 1200: Introduction to the History of Science
·         HSTC 2204: The Darwinian Revolution
·         HSTC 2810: History of Chinese Science and Technology
·         HSTC 2210: Engineering the Planet: The Anthropocene Era, from Prehistory to Today's Global Crisis (Environmental History)
·         HSTC 3611: Brewing Science
 
Applicants can also propose their own courses (in which case they should submit a course syllabus with their application) or offer to teach other HOST courses (for a complete list, see the university’s calendar at: http://www.ukings.ca/files/u16/Academic_Calendar_September_25_2014.pdf).
 
The successful candidates will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering their classes, including advertising, reading lists and course readers, websites, lectures, test preparation and evaluation. They should also be available for consultation with students, be willing and able to supervise teaching assistants, and be available for teaching staff meetings. The positions report to the Director of the Programme.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a post-graduate degree and a strong research and teaching experience in History, Philosophy, or Sociology of Science and Technology or related field of studies or possess other academic and/or professional qualifications deemed suitable for teaching in the programme. Previous university-level teaching is required.
