Need more study time? The Killam's got you covered

Posted by Dalhousie Libraries on November 5, 2014 in General Announcements

Dal Night Owls are back. The Learning Commons and the atrium of the Killam Memorial Library will remain open until 3 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays, until December 12. Exception: Remembrance Day, Tuesday, November 11: we will be open from 1–9 p.m.

Access to this service is for current Dalhousie or University of King’s College students with a valid DalCard. To access the Killam after midnight, swipe your card through the reader at the main University Avenue entrance. Students already in the Learning Commons or atrium at midnight will need to swipe their DalCard in a mobile card reader as requested by the commissionaires.

Please note: The Help Desk, the Killam Library Service Point, and upper library floors will close at midnight. Students in those areas can move to the Learning Commons or atrium.

For the early birds, beginning the weekend of Saturday, November 15, we’ll be extending our opening hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings, opening at 8 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. The last morning we will open at 8 a.m. on the weekend will be Sunday, December 14.

PARKING & SAFETY

The McCain Building Parkade* across from LeMarchant Street will offer FREE parking from 11:30 p.m. until 3 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays during Night Owls.

If you’re walking or biking, consider becoming study buddies with friends or classmates who live near you, and head home together.

*The McCain Building Parkade is the main parking area for events at the Arts Centre each evening and a fee will be charged if you park there before 11:30 p.m. After 11:30 p.m., parking is free of charge until the Learning Commons and atrium closes at 3 a.m.
