The Faculty of Medicine is seeking a 0.6 FTE Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education to provide strong academic and administrative leadership to the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME).

This is a five-year appointment with the opportunity for renewal. The Associate Dean, UGME provides leadership in the interpretation, implementation and communication of all policies and procedures pertaining to the undergraduate medical education program in the Faculty of Medicine. The Associate Dean develops and maintains strong, collaborative working relationships with medical students, medical student leaders, faculty, academic leaders, staff and administrative leaders to facilitate the successful operationalization and accreditation of the undergraduate medical education curriculum.

Qualified candidates will be active clinical (MD) members of the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University, with demonstrated expertise and interest in undergraduate medical education, demonstrated senior leadership experience, excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability for team leadership and ability to work effectively with others, strong management skills with decision making based on utilization of information, integrity and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and strong facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills.

A graduate degree in medical education is considered an asset. This is a part time academic administrative position for internal candidates only.
