Senate Review of the Institute for Research in Materials

The Dalhousie Senate is conducting a regular review of the Institute for Research in Materials. The purpose of the review is to improve research activities and to provide information for planning, budgeting and other decision-making processes.

The Senate Review Committee for the Institute for Research in Materials (chaired by Dr. David Byers, Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology) is seeking information from all interested parties and is open to your comments and concerns. All faculty, staff and students having interaction with the Institute for Research in Materials are particularly invited to participate in the review. Appointments can be arranged to meet with the Senate Review Committee on (the afternoon of December 2nd, Studley campus, and Sexton campus the morning of December 4th) and/or the two external reviewers who will be on campus Thursday, November 13th and Friday, November 14th for a site visit. The external reviewers are:

Dr. Michael Brett
Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering,
University of Alberta and Dr. John Berlinsky Deputy Director, Kavli
Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of California

Any person wishing to meet with the Senate Review Committee and/or the external reviewers is asked to contact Coleen Branscombe by October 24th.  Unless otherwise requested, and subject to the overall demand, individual meetings with the committee and external reviewers will be scheduled for 30 minutes.
