POSITION: Part-time Academic, MARA 5001.06, Fall Term, Contemporary Issues in Ocean Management and Development

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Faculty of Science, Marine Affairs Program

PAY RATE: As per CUPE Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The successful applicant will be teaching and coordinating the Fall Term of MARA 5001 Contemporary Issues in Ocean Management and Development in the Marine Affairs Program. This graduate level full credit course will be conducted in the Fall Term of the 2014-2015 Academic year (September to December 2014).

The successful applicant is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading and administration of the class including planning and directing classroom-based activities, marking assignments and providing tutorial support to the students as required during the fall term.

The Instructor reports to the Interim Director of the Marine Affairs Program.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Candidates must possess a minimum Masters degree in an interdisciplinary relevant field. Candidates must also have teaching experience in teaching marine law and policy and institutional and public participation in ocean and coastal management.
