As part of Dalhousie’s facilities renewal program, work will commence this week to replace the roof and air handling unit at B Building on the Sexton Campus. Currently the roof is leaking and due to be replaced. The air handling unit is badly corroded and does not provide sufficient conditioned air for the building.
Fencing will be installed at the site in accordance with safety procedures and to protect the ground level work area. This will require closing off the parking spaces in front of C Building and also part of the soccer field
Roofing work is expected to be completed by the end of August. The air conditioning will be shut off on August 11th for removal of the existing unit, with the new unit fully installed and operating by mid-October.
Although this work will be temporarily disruptive to the Sexton Campus, these are much needed improvements that will ultimately benefit B Building occupants and visitors to the facility. The Department of Facilities Management would like to apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
