Carol Goodwin, associate professor in the Faculty of Agriculture, received a Volunteer of the Year Award from the town of Truro earlier this spring.
She was nominated by the Truro Tree Committee and was one of five to receive a Volunteer Citizen Award. She currently serves on the Truro Tree Committee and Communities in Bloom Committee as a vocal and active citizen volunteer helping to ensure the long-term health and sustainability of the town’s urban forest and community green space. Since 1998, she has given her knowledge, enthusiasm and experience, providing great benefit in helping to plan and manage Truro’s valuable green infrastructure.
In addition to her volunteer time on committees, Carol has participated in many town -organized public planning sessions and meetings to bring her ideas and provide public feedback on various issues within the Town of Truro. Carol has for many years demonstrated her passion and commitment to trying to make Truro the best it can be through active service and participation within her community.
