WORK ASSIGNMENT:
 
CANA 1102.03 Halifax and the World: Part 1 and CANA 1103.03 Halifax and the World: Part 2. The part-time academic is responsible for co-teaching and co-managing these two joint courses with a faculty member from the Department of International Development Studies (IDS) and in addition is to be available for two hours per week outside of class times for student consultation.
 
CANA 1102 is offered from Sept. 5, 2014 through December 1, 2014, Monday / Wednesday / Friday from 12:35 to 1:25 and CANA 1103 is offered at the same times from January 5, 2015 through April 10, 2015. The part-time academic reports to the Coordinator of the Canadian Studies program.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
PhD in a humanities discipline or interdisciplinary humanities program with a focus on cultural production and social justice. Research and teaching experience in Canadian Studies / International Development Studies or closely related fields. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate deep knowledge of Halifax and an ability to incorporate critical analysis of local cultural production, gender studies, indigenous studies, and social justice issues into the course. Previous teaching experience in large lecture settings preferred.
