Boots 'n' Blooms Halifax: Register today!

Posted by Communications and Marketing / Human Resources on May 20, 2014 in General Announcements

Don't forget that tomorrow (May 21) is the last day to register for Boots 'n' Blooms ā€” Halifax edition!

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and sign up to participate in a great day of gardening, teamwork and beautifying campus on Wednesday, June 4. Dalhousie faculty, staff and students are welcome to register to participate in gardening activities in the quad in front of the Hicks Building. You can register as individuals or as teams. If you want to get out with friends, sign up as a team. If you want to meet new people, sign up as an individual.

We are pleased to offer some great incentives for joining the fun (beyond the obvious joys of getting outside on a work day and putting your hands into the spring soil!)

Participants will be entered into a draw for the Boots ā€˜nā€™ Blooms door prize: a garden and design consultation with Stephen Cushing from Dal's Office of Sustainability. Stephen is a graduate of horticulture and landscape architecture and is a partner at Urban Perspectives Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning.

Also, Marjorie Willison has kindly agreed to be one of the sources of gardening wisdom for the ask-an-expert portion of the day. You may know her from CBC Radio's Maritime Noon, where she has been answering gardening questions since 1985.

Register to take part at the Boots 'n' Blooms website today!
