POSITION: Part-Time Academic
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: International Development Studies
PAY RATE: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENT: INTD 3002.03 – Introduction to Development IV. The part time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading and administration of the class and in addition is to being available for two hours per week outside of class times for student consultation. This class will be offered in the Winter semester. The class will be offered on Mondays at 13:35 to 15:25 with a one tutorial on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The part time academic reports to the Chair of the department.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Ph.D. or M.A. in International Development Studies or closely related field. Experience and expertise in interdisciplinary approaches to Development Studies. Previous teaching experience preferred.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: INTD 2106.03/GEOG 2206.03 Africa: An Introduction This course will focus on contemporary Africa. Stereotypical portrayals of Africa will be examined and critiqued with the goal of emphasizing the immensity, diversity and complexity of the continent in order to better understand the opportunities and challenges of African development in the twenty-first century. The part-time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading and administration of the class and in addition is to be available for two hours per week outside of class times for student consultation. The class is offered during the winter semester on Tuesday and Thursday, 14:35 to 15:55. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the department.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Ph.D. in International Development Studies or closely related field. Research and teaching experience throughout Africa and able to draw upon this practical experience. Previous teaching experience preferred.
