POSITION: Part-Time Academic for GERM 1020 (German Fiction in Novel and Film). Fall and Winter Term 2014/15.
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: German Department, Dalhousie University, Marion McCain Arts and Social Sciences Bldg., Room 3060, 6135 University Avenue, Halifax, NS B3H 4R2
PAY RATE: In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The German Department is seeking to make a part-time appointment in German for the academic year 2014/15. The successful candidate will teach a writing requirement class on German Fiction in Novel and Film. The seminar will be conducted in English, with references to the original German text and film. Three class hours per week.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: A graduate degree or other academic and/or professional qualifications, teaching experience at university level

POSITION: Instructor (GERM 3000: Advanced German). Fall and Winter term 2014-15.
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: German Department/Marion McCain Arts and Social Sciences Bldg., 3rd Floor.
PAY RATE: In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement.
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The Instructor will be required to cover oral practice, translation techniques, detailed comprehension of texts and the finer points of grammar in English and German. The Instructor is also responsible for setting tests and for final grading. Three class hours per week.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: A higher degree in German; fluency in German and English; German language teaching experience at university level.
