Celebrating National Co‑operative Education Week

Posted by Management Career Services on March 19, 2014 in Community Highlights

This week, Management Career Services, in Dalhousie's Faculty of Management is one of two Dalhousie "campus champions" (the other being the office of Career and Community Services in the Faculty of Architecture & Planning) helping students and employers celebrate National Co-operative Education Week. National Co-op Week is an initiative led on a national scale by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education, with universities from across the country participating, as there are more than 80,000 co-op students gaining work experience in Canada.

From March 17-21, Management Career Services will celebrate co-op education by engaging students and employers in CAFCE's National Co-op Week social media contest, by delivering treats to approximately 40 Bachelor of Commerce students currently experiencing their first work term and their respective employers, and by hosting our annual Employer Recognition Breakfast.

The Employer Recognition Breakfast celebrates 2013 work term achievements and will recognizes this year's MCS Employer of the Year (Bell Aliant), Co-op Student of the Year (4th Year Commerce student Johnathon Bingeman), and Internship Student of the Year (4th year Management student Rodney Small). Representatives from 10 other organizations will be present to receive certificates of appreciation for their ongoing support of Dalhousie's Commerce Co-op, Bachelor of Management Intern, and Corporate Residency MBA students.
