Environmental Science in the Faculty of Science at Dalhousie University offers undergraduate programs in Environment and seeks a full time instructor for the program, for a 36 month appointment, July 1 2014- June 30 2017.  

The major responsibilities of the Instructor will be to act as academic advisor for the Environmental Science program, to teach the full year course ENVS 1000: Introduction to Environmental Studies, and to organize and conduct/teach ENVS 3001: Environmental Field School (offered once a year). The Instructor will be responsible for the tutorial sections of ENVS 1000 and supervising Teaching Assistants in both ENVS 1000 and 3001. S/he will be expected to participate in the academic life of the unit, coordinate ENVS 3801, maintain and update the program calendar as necessary, serve on program committees, and assist with student events. S/he will engage with other units at Dalhousie in regard to academic program issues. This position reports to the Director of Environmental Science.

Qualifications:  The candidate will have, as a minimum, an MSc degree or equivalent academic experience in environmental science. A PhD degree would be an asset. The candidate should also have demonstrated teaching experience, as well as good interpersonal skills and interest in working as a team member.
