Work Assignment: This Part-Time Academic will be fully responsible for the teaching and grading of one section of MUSC 2007.06, Guitar History and Techniques, from May 5 to June 20, 2014. The candidate will work closely with instructors of other sections of this class to coordinate curriculum requirements. The Instructor is required to provide a Method of Assessment and course outline and to conduct end of term student ratings/evaluations of instruction. This position reports to the Chair of the Department.

Requirements of Position: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Music or its equivalent. Proven experience in the teaching of guitar – university teaching experience preferred. Significant knowledge of guitar history and repertoire. Computer literacy is essential.

Evidence of successful university-level teaching, preferably in the area of music and culture. Ability and willingness to incorporate or perform live musical demonstrations into classroom teaching, ability to communicate successfully in large class situations, and the ability to assess and critique written essay submission related to the course subject. Computer literacy is essential.
