POSITIONS:                Sessional Lecturers
PAY RATE:                 The pay rate for all Part Time Academic positions is in accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement.
 
All offers of employment as a part-time academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the courses and approval by the University.
 
The Courses are as follows:
 
2. HSCE 2000.03 (Summer 2014) -  Health Care Ethics (on line)
WORK ASSIGNMENT: Responsibilities of the sessional lecturer will include development of course materials for on-line course delivery, teaching, and administration of the course.  Topics include: moral theory and principles and ethical issues in health care.  The maximum enrolment for this class is 50 students.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Knowledge of health care system and previous teaching experience desired. A master’s degree is required (a master’s degree in ethics is an asset).
 
2. HSCE 3000 (Summer 2014) -- Culture, Diversity & Health (on line)
WORK ASSIGNMENT:  Responsibilities will include all aspects of development of course materials for on line delivery, on line teaching, and administration of the course.  The course will assist students in identifying special populations encountered in their professional practice and in considering ways of providing effective, compassionate care. The maximum enrolment for this class is 50 students.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Undergraduate degree in a health profession and a complementary graduate degree are required. Previous teaching experience in a university setting with an understanding of the health needs of specialpopulations and an awareness of diversity issues in relation to health care.
