Nancy Hayter promoted to Executive Director of Dalhousie Research Services

It gives me great pleasure to announce the promotion of Nancy Hayter to the position of Executive Director (ED) of Dalhousie Research Services (DRS). As Executive Director, Nancy will provide overall strategic leadership and integrated direction for the DRS office by overseeing its operation including service performance, operational management, outreach activities, and the oversight of application services and award support.

Nancy Hayter brings substantial depth and breadth of experience to this position. An employee of Dalhousie since 1989, she has helped, for nearly 15 years, numerous researchers with proposal preparation and grant management for a variety of research funding opportunities. Nancy has been involved with international development grants and, more recently, was in charge of institutional strategic initiative funding opportunities such as Canada Excellence Research Chairs, Canada Research Chairs (CRC), Industrial Research Chairs, Networks of Centers of Excellence, Canada Foundation of Innovation (CFI) grants and Genome Canada grants. Nancy Hayter has also served as a point of contact for Dalhousie with the CFI and the CRC Secretariat in Ottawa as well as with the Nova Scotia Research and Innovation Trust. In addition, she has worked within the university on several inter-service working groups and ad hoc facilitation committees in order to help serve the research community m! ore efficiently and effectively.
