Becoming More Stress Resilient (for Academic Staff)
December 10, 2013
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Room B400, lower level, Killam Library
Note: This session is targeted to faculty members and other academic staff at Dalhousie. A session on this topic for staff will take place in January 2014.
Stress doesn't happen to us, but yet we all feel it. We can't, and shouldn't, eliminate it completely, but we can learn practical, specific ways to reduce that "over-stressed" feeling and protect ourselves from its negative effects.
In this practical and interactive session, faculty members and other academic staff will:
1. examine the effects of stress on their work and personal lives and their relationship with stress;
2. reflect on the importance of minimizing stress where you can and coping with it when you can't; and
3. develop an individualized plan for coping with their stress and stressors.
Spend some time now in order to feel more balanced later.
Please feel free to bring your lunch.
