Post Doc Available in Strategic Assessment of Sustainable Forest Management and the Supply Chain in the Forest Bioeconomy

Two Post Doctoral Research Positions (Dalhousie/U of Toronto) are available funded by the NSERC FPInnovations Strategic Research Network on Value Chain Optimization (VCO). The purpose of the research is to investigate the extent to which forest management strategies and industrial strategies have, can and should be linked to develop comprehensive strategies that maximize the value of Canada’s forest resources

Suitable candidates will have a PhD in one of the following areas: Forest Economics, Industrial Economics, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Operational Research with a demonstrated ability and interest in modeling and decision support to answer questions of forest management and/or industrial strategy. The VCO Network has researchers with substantial skills in large-scale mathematical modeling for system optimization and decision analysis. We are looking for someone who can interact with government, FPInnovations, and industry to develop a framework for understanding the interaction of forest management and industrial development strategies and with the research community of the VCO Network to define and test decision support tools for strategy assessment.
