Earlier this month, Dalhousie University launched the Institute for Big Data Analytics. The goal of the institute is to find nuggets of useful information about the world from the massive amount of data we produce each day.

The institute aims to collaborate with industry, focus on training new big data experts, and become an international leader in the realm of big data analytics. Proponents of the institute claim this is an important project for Nova Scotia that will make a meaningful impact on the everyday lives of people in the local community.
