Instructor Position Available
Applications are invited for a 50% one year limited term instructor position to begin 1 September, 2013.
The successful candidate is expected to teach in campus programs, develop curriculum (particularly for on line delivery), assist faculty in embedding opportunities for interprofessional learning into their social work courses, and conduct relevant co-ordination and evaluation of activities for interprofessional health education (IPHE) courses which are taught in collaboration with other schools in the Faculty of Health Professions.
The School of Social Work particularly works to develop interprofessional learning opportunities with other schools in the Faculty of Health Professions and with other Schools/Departments and Faculties across the university. The incumbent will be expected to facilitate further collaborations with other Schools (in particular the School of Nursing with distance education).
The primary responsibilities will include participation in the health mentors program (which includes supervision and grading of students and committee work); co-ordination of and teaching in the Social Work and Occupational Therapy learning activity; further minicourse development on social determinants of health (in conjunction with the Schools of Occupational Therapy and Health and Human Performance but involving students from all programs); further development of (and teaching in) on-line curricula for IPHE in social determinants of health and critical diversity; and further development of IPHE curricula with relevant faculty members in the School of Social Work.
The successful candidate will contribute to the academic/collegial life of the School and broader professional community, and to the social justice mission of the school. She or he will have a PhD or equivalent in social work or a related field, and demonstrated experience in teaching in interprofessional learning programs. Experience in on line delivery, curriculum development and program evaluation is also required.
