POSITION: PART-TIME OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY INSTRUCTORS: FALL 2013
 
 
September-December 2013:
These positions will be responsible for tutoring groups of 8-10 students in the following courses:
OCCU 5001 Enabling Occupation 1: Tuesday afternoons 1:00-3:30 (up to 5 positions, 40 hours each)
OCCU 5003 Dimensions of Professional Practice: Thursday afternoons 12:30-3:00 (up to 4 positions, 40 hours each)
 
September-December 2013:
These positions will be responsible for tutoring groups of 8-10 students in the following course:
OCCU 6001 Enabling Occupation 3: Thursday mornings 8:30-12:30: (up to 5 positions, 80 hours each plus 1 position at 110 hrs)
 
This position will be responsible for tutoring students in the following course:
OCCU 6140 Neuroscience for Occupational Therapists: On-site tutoring Days/Times and off site office hours, times to be negotiated: (130 hours total). Background and experience in neuroscience is essential. A graduate degree and qualifications as a licensed occupational therapist or physiotherapist is preferred.
 
 
PAY RATE: According to the CUPE Collective Agreement
 
WORK ASSIGNMENT: Under the guidance of the Course Professor and a Lab Coordinator, each Instructor will tutor and evaluate groups of students using problem and case-based learning in Occupational Therapy Skills Labs.  Tutors may be required to attend on-site special events labs or exams on alternative days with advanced notice. Off-site preparation, marking and/or office hours for some courses may also be required. Instructors are required to attend orientation sessions prior to the academic term (to be scheduled). As time permits, other duties may be required to assist with lab preparation and/or delivery.
 
REQUIREMENTS: All positions: excellent communication and  organizational skills; preference given to applicants with a minimum of two years practice experience and scheduling flexibility. Experience with student teaching/supervision and knowledge/familiarity with educative distance technologies will be an asset. Good computer skills and use of the internet required for literature searches and course support.
 
REQUIREMENTS: OCCU 5001, OCCU 5003, OCCU 6001: Minimum of BSc(OT). Graduate degree is an asset. Current registration as a licensed occupational therapist required. Current registration as a licensed occupational therapist required.
 
REQUIREMENTS: OCCU 6140: Background and experience in neuroscience is essential. A graduate degree and qualifications as a licensed occupational therapist or physiotherapist is preferred.
