Office 365: Your questions answered

Posted by Information Technology Services on June 17, 2013 in General Announcements

As the rollout of Dal's new email and calendar system moves along, we'll be regularly sharing answers to some of the most common questions our team is hearing from the Dal community.

For more Q&As, visit the Office 365 website or ask your own questions at our community help website, help.dal.ca

Can I start entering new events in the Office 365 Calendar right away once I'm in Office 365, or should I wait until the Meeting Maker data has been migrated?

Continue using Meeting Maker for now. In July Meeting Maker data that is future dated, and a 30 day history, will be migrated to the Office 365 Calendar.  At that point Meeting Maker will be discontinued and the new Calendar will be the place to schedule meetings and events.

How do I add my email signature in Office 365?

Here's how this works in Office 365:

1.      Sign into my.dal.ca
2.      Open Outlook Web App (email).
3.      Click the cog wheel in the top right hand corner of the office 365 banner.
4.      Click options in the drop down menu.
5.      Choose settings on the left hand side of the page under options
6.      Input your email signature, choose preferences and click save.
A video clip that shows the process is available here.

Can I share my Office 365 Calendar with external (to Dalhousie) people?

Yes, this can be done via either a web browser or an Outlook client. Instructions can be found at help.dal.ca by clicking here. Once your calendar is configured, the person you shared it with will receive an email with instructions to view your calendar.
