Globalization and the internationalization of Canadian universities are complex phenomena. They encompass a range of economic, political, cultural and educational theories, ideas, concepts, and activities. While campus internationalization is generally viewed positively, it is essential to create clear rationales and aspirations for what we hope to achieve and for whom. Institutions, programs, faculty, and service units are increasingly being challenged to create and implement innovative programs, courses, and resources in support of an international mindset. We are faced with meeting the needs of students who will live, study and work in our local and global communities.
The conference will take place on May 1 and 2, 2013 in the Rowe Management Building, The keynote speaker, Dr. Roopa Desai Trilokekar from York University will be giving a talk: “What is the student experience of internationalization? Building principles of good practice in internationalizing higher education.”
