DALHOUSIE HEALTH MENTORS PROGRAM
Faculties of Dentistry, Health Professions and Medicine
The Dalhousie University Health Mentors Program invites applications for a part-time director (1-1.5 days/week) to provide academic leadership in the oversight, management, design and delivery of the Program, an interprofessional initiative that introduces students in health professions programs to patients with chronic conditions and disabilities and to their peers involved in health care delivery. Patients include those with chronic health conditions and those with disabilities. Students will experience first-hand patient/client centered practice, interprofessional learning and health care team functioning.
The Director will oversee the design of the appropriate tools and strategies for the assessment of student performance and program evaluation, and represent the Program to various constituencies.
Interested candidates will hold a PhD (preferred) or Master’s degree, with academic experience and interest in interprofessional education, experience and interest in community engagement and health education in the community and experience in working with groups of students and stakeholders external to the University.
