Posted by Health and Human Performance on January 10, 2013 in General Announcements

Hello, my name is Skye Wilton and I am an Honours Conversion Candidate in my 5th year in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University. I am comparing two delivery methods of a dance-based fitness activity learn how it may help young adult women increase their level of physical activity participation through improved activity enjoyment and confidence If you are eligible and agree to participate, you will take part in a two-week Zumba-based fitness program. During the first week you will be asked to take part in either a home-based (delivered through a Wii gaming console) or a community-based Zumba program. You will switch to the other program during your second week. You will be selected to begin study in either the home or community-based program through random selection (similar to flipping a coin). Over the course of the study, you will be asked to take part in three, forty-five minute Zumba classes each week (total of 6, forty-five minute sessions). Involvement in this study will! allow participants to learn about fun and novel interventions that may increase their level of physical activity.

If you are a full time female Dalhousie undergraduate student, identify as being inactive, and are between the ages of 18-25 you may be eligible to participate.

If you are interested in participating in this study, or would like more information about the study, please contact Skye Wilton at s.wilton@dal.ca

Thank you for your time!
