POSITION: Sessional Instructor; Behavioral Ecology (Biology 3062); January 1, to April 30, 2013

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Biology

PAY RATE: In accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The sessional instructor will be giving lectures examining animal behaviour from an evolutionary perspective. Why do animals do what they do? Using the theory of natural selection as a basis, he/she will examine foraging, grouping patterns, territorial behaviour, parenting, mating behavior, social organization, aggression and co-operation. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: The applicants will have an advanced degree in biology and have prior, recent teaching experience in the field of behavioural ecology and demonstrated ability to lecture to over 100 undergraduate students. First-time applicants to the Department of Biology must provide the names of two references.
