Neurological disorders such as stroke, Parkinson's disease and even neurological changes underlying normal aging are commonly associated with cognitive impairments in attention, memory and thinking. Such cognitive changes are difficult to treat and can significantly impact an individual’s quality of life; reducing personal independence, family resources and ultimately the social and economic health of Canada. To combat this challenge, the Cognitive Health and Recovery Research Laboratory has begun to develop innovative computerized interventions for cognitive rehabilitation. But we need your help. By identifying what leisure activities adults enjoy, our research team at the Brain Repair Centre can appropriately design a fun and engaging game-like therapy that will encourage and motivate patient rehabilitation.
