Congratulations to Grant Wach from the Department of Earth Sciences, who was received this year's Professorial Award from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He's the inaugural recipient of the award, which recognizes excellence of the teaching of natural resources in the earth sciences.
Congrats to the Faculty of Agriculture for its wine-making success. John Eikelenboom, owner of Rines Creek Vineyard Shubenacadie, recently sampled wine created in the Small Fruit Crops lab on the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus. The wine, made from fresh cranberries, was sampled by 80 guests of Mr. Eikelenboom during a North American berry growing group tour. Wine was sampled from all four Atlantic provinces with the student created wine coming out on top! The crispness and very clean taste and finish made it the favourite among the group.
Congratulations to Christine Chambers (Department of Psychology, cross-appointed with the Departments of Anesthesia and Psychiatry) who is receiving a 2012 Progress Women of Excellence Award. The Award ceremony will take place on November 14, 2012 at the World Trade and Convention Centre.
Congratulations to Mary Brooks (Faculty of Management) who received the 2012 KAMI Award at the recent IAME Conference. The KAMI Award is given to the best paper from the past five years presented at the International Association of Maritime Economists Annual Conference.
