Dalhousie Northern Ireland Dialogue for Peace Study Trip

Posted by Dalhousie Multifaith Centre on September 19, 2012 in General Announcements

Participants will explore theories and practices of peacemaking
with youth aged 15-29 in Halifax and Northern Ireland.

In the months leading up to the trip participants will research the history of conflict among different groups in Nova Scotia and Northern Ireland; develop tools which will lead to dialogue and conversation among groups with a history of conflict; and facilitate conversations with high school youth in Halifax

During their time in Northern Ireland, participants will spend three days at the Corrymeela Peace and Reconciliation Centre in Ballycastle, NI; visit the Walls of Derry, representatives from communities working for peaceful change in Belfast, and an integrated high school in Belfast.
