Hello everyone!

Please join us this Friday, March 14th at 3:30 p.m. in LSC 5th floor Biology lounge for our Friday Informal Seminar Hour (FISH) talk: Reverse-Engineering in Oceanography: A Role for Phytoplankton in Decarbonizing the Future given by Dr. Hugh MacIntyre!

Reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide will require both reducing emissions and active capture and sequestration. As the original planetary engineers, phytoplankton are pre-adapted to contribute to this.
This talk focuses on their role (as spectators) in marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) and on their application for recycling waste-streams to produce food/feeds and building materials.
