Tigers women's hockey goalie Grace Beer was named a U SPORTS first team all-Canadian at the awards banquet on Wednesday night in Waterloo.
A third-year recreation student, Beer led the conference with a save percentage of .950 this season — the third best in U SPORTS. Beer is also third in the country in saves, recording 697 this campaign. She played in 21 games for the Tigers this season, starting in 20 of them, and led the league in wins with 14. She also started both playoff games for the Tigers
This nod caps off an impressive season for the Oakville, Ontario native. Last month she was named the AUS Most Valuable player — the first Tiger to earn the honour. In January, Beer backstopped Team Canada to a FISU silver medal, earning the start in the final in Torino, Italy.
