A record number of prospective students and their supporters got up close and personal with Dalhousie last weekend at the fall Open House event in Halifax.
A total of 2,696 people attended the university’s biggest annual recruitment event, eager to get a taste of student life and explore Dal’s Halifax campuses and programs.
Of those attendees, 1,290 were prospective students — an increase of 16 per cent over last year’s fall event.
“I enjoyed the friendliness of everyone there and how it felt like I was in such a welcoming environment,” wrote one student in a survey after the experience.

Eighteen per cent of attendees shared that they were unsure about applying to or attending Dal before the event but are now sure after attending the event. The remaining 74 per cent shared that they were always interested, but now are sure they will apply or attend.
