Dal boosts performance in highly cited researchers category in ShanghaiRanking’s latest world universities list

Dal’s biggest improvement year-over-year in ShanghaiRanking Consultancy's latest Academic Ranking of World Universities was in the Highly Cited Researchers category. 

The university rose 21.5 per cent in the category in the 2024 ranking compared the prior year. 

Drs. Tony Walker, Rudolf Uher, and Noni E. MacDonald were noted as the most cited academics for Dal. 

Dalhousie maintained its place in the top 301-400 universities overall in the annual ranking, which tracks the performance of more than 2,500 institutions across six categories linked to research and academic achievement. 

In Canada, Dal tied with Laval University, Simon Fraser University, and University of Victoria in the top 13-16 range.

Dal’s score increased this year in two other categories, including Papers Indexed in Science Citation Index-Expanded and Per Capita Performance, but fell in Papers Published in Nature & Science.
