Bringing Worlds Together was the theme of Community Day 2024 on Dal's Agricultural Campus in Truro last Thursday (July 25).
This annual tradition — around for more than 50 years now — provides an opportunity for the local community to come to campus and learn about the impact Dalhousie is having locally and globally.
“The Faculty of Agriculture is a proud member of the Truro/Bible Hill community, and our grounds and facilities are open to everyone,” explained Dr. Gefu Wang-Pruski, acting dean and campus principal
“Community Day is an opportunity to thank our community for their support and show them some of the important work we are doing in a fun and engaging way.”
Nearly 2000 people were on campus throughout the four-hour event and travelled campus by wagon ride. Highlights included displays on vertical farming-hydroponics, biodiversity of insects, soil health and resilience, pollinator friendly and deer resistant plants, wearable technology, biomechanics and much more.
